This project in Fullarton was all about upgrading an older, tired rear verandah into something sleek, durable, and built for modern outdoor living. The client wanted a space that looked sharp, tied in with the home’s architecture, and would stand up to years of entertaining.
We removed the existing verandah and replaced it with a custom steel-framed structure—clean lines, minimal maintenance, and built to last. To bring warmth and texture to the space, we lined the ceiling with Silver Top Ash, a beautiful timber that pairs perfectly with the contemporary look of the new frame.
Underfoot, we poured a honed concrete slab, giving the outdoor area a smooth, refined finish with plenty of grip underfoot. To complete the space, we formed and poured a matching honed concrete benchtop for the built-in BBQ area—solid, seamless, and built as part of the slab for a cohesive, high-end result.
The finished space feels light, open, and made for entertaining, while still being tough enough to handle daily use and the Adelaide climate. It’s a simple but standout upgrade that makes a huge difference to how the back of the home feels and functions.
